In winter, the snow and ice can turn pavements and road surfaces into skating rinks, increasing the risk of slips and injuries. At this time of year, the CERN infirmary sees more people coming in with problems after a fall.
In these colder winter months, we naturally spend more time indoors and in close proximity to one another. These are perfect conditions for the rapid spread of seasonal respiratory illnesses, such as the common cold, flu and COVID.
